Since Reevaldo competed in the Rio Olympics and wanted to focus on helping his country win a gold medal, the support date was set after the Olympics ended. As a rule, clubs do not have 24 days to fulfill the conditions of the transfer agreement. ↩ (b) the transfer will be matched and approved by the FIFA Transfer Matching System (“TMS”);5 (c) the player will be granted a work permit allowing him to be legally employed as a professional football player in the United Kingdom;6 and (3) REEVALDO MARCELO DO TIRANO is a Brazilian citizen born in Rio de Janeiro on 12 May 1998; Brazil and is registered as a professional player with Maracanã (“the Player”). 3.1 Paddington United will pay Maracanã £6,000,000.11, less any deduction for the permanent transfer of the player`s registration within 5 days of meeting the following conditions:3 As Reevaldo is currently registered with the CBF (Brazilian FA), he cannot be registered with the FA until the CBF has sent his Internet transfer certificate to the FA. For more information, see Article 9 of the FIFA RSTP. ↩ 2.1 Taking into account the transfer fees (see clause 3), Maracanã will definitively transfer the Player`s registration to Paddington United under the conditions set out in this Agreement. Buying clubs should make the payment of transfer fees subject to compliance with the necessary conditions relating to the eligibility of the player to play for the buying club. ↩ 6.1 This Agreement requires that the conditions set out in clause 3.1 be fulfilled and that the Player has been fulfilled by 24 September at the latest. August 2016 is registered with Paddington United.12 In the event that this condition is not met, the agreement is void and Maracanã is entitled to transfer the player to another club. The vast majority of transfer agreements contain confidentiality clauses, which is one of the reasons why media coverage of transfer fees can vary widely. Journalists can only report what they are told, and they can be told different numbers depending on which side of the table their source is.
For example, a source in the buying club may tell a journalist about the basic fee behind closed doors without mentioning additional clauses or payments. However, a source in the sales club could include all the add-ons without distinguishing the probability that they will be filled. ↩ These are all transfer fee add-ons that are due when they are triggered. These payments are subject to the condition that Reevaldo successfully signs. ↩ 3.3 If the Player is permanently transferred by Paddington United for a fee greater than the amounts Maracanã has already received under this Agreement, 20% of this deductible will be due and payable to Maracanã.8 The Buying Club may be responsible for distributing solidarity contributions to the Player`s training clubs. For more information, see Article 21 and Annexes 5 and 6 of the FIFA RSTP. In addition, whether the transfer fee is a gross or net sum is a key term in transfer negotiations. ↩ The FIFA TRANSFER MATCHING SYSTEM (FIFA TMS) is a mandatory online data information system for all international transfers since 2010. Stay tuned for an upcoming article that will cover FIFA TMS in more detail.
↩ In our last post, we saw Paddington United negotiate a transfer deal with Maracanã for Reevaldo. But what does a transfer contract really look like? (4) PADDINGTON UNITED wishes to acquire the Player`s registration and Maracanã has accepted the following terms and conditions with regard to the transfer of the Player`s registration to Paddington United. If Article 18(4) of the FIFA RSTP prevents an employment contract from being subject to the successful completion of a work permit or medical contract, it is possible to initiate the transfer from one club to another in this context. Stay tuned for an upcoming article that focuses specifically on Paddington and Reevaldo`s attempts to obtain a work permit. ↩ When buying a player, Premier League clubs must pay an additional four percent “transfer fee” to the league. Only the basic fee will initially count towards the calculation of the transfer tax, so Paddington will owe four percent of £6 million or £240,000. .
